Stage Four of the Peak District Boundary Walk. About 9.5 miles
Saturday 30 December
Meet Bramshall Road Car park 08.55. Departure 09.00.
We will endeavour to start Stage Four at Onecote but there is only very limited parking in the village.
The walk takes the Hamps Way following the valley to the disused Mixon copper mines which finally closed in 1855. Beyond New York we ascend to Morridge and the Mermaid. A section of road walking is inevitable here before descending back to Onecote on quiet paths.
This is a quiet and relatively unknown part of the Staffordshire Moorlands. It is likely to be very muddy. The upper reaches of the walk may be snowy at this time of year. On reaching the ridge of Morridge on this stage the view finally opens out to the countryside of the next few stages.....Tittesworth, the Dane Valley and Shutlingsloe.
Walk Leader Jonathan 07850 349114

Stage Five is likely to be Saturday January 13th from Tittesworth to Morridge.Merryton Low and Upper Hulme.
